Codex pets guide

Hatch Pet Codex Workflow

Codex hatch pet searches usually mean one of three workflows: using /hatch, running /hatch-pet, or installing the hatch-pet skill. All of them start with a clear character brief, then generate a preview, animation rows, pet.json, and spritesheet.webp. CodingPets.dev packages that flow behind a photo upload and approval step.

Install the skill

$skill-installer hatch-pet

After installing or reloading skills, a Codex hatch pet workflow can use /hatch-pet prompts for custom animated companion output.

Good inputs

Use a front-facing reference image and describe the desired style, colors, expression, and coding companion mood. A useful /hatch brief names the character, palette, animation personality, and final use in Codex.

Finished output

A usable custom Codex pet should have a named manifest, a valid atlas, a ZIP package, and a public preview page if you choose to share it.

CodingPets.dev is an independent custom Codex pets generator and gallery. It is not affiliated with OpenAI.
